Athletics you should be ashamed

The IAAF is killing its own sport, today we, the paying public who contribute the money towards the sport, was robbed of seeing the show man that is Usain Bolt by what is a ridiculous rule, sprinters need a fast start, and at times that can be a mistake, but why take what people are paying to see out of the race, the sport really must re-evaluate this stupid one false start rule.

Surely we want to see the best, we want to pay to see history, how is kicking the man that everybody went to see, out of the greatest race that we all love, entertainment? Simple, it isn’t and the idiots who run the sport will cost itself money, it also is a worry for the forthcoming London Olympics, if you pay the prices for the main events, yet half of the top competitors are disqualified for a minor mistake, are you going to be happy and return to the sport? No!

Usain Bolt was clearly a false start, but even though I don’t think the bloke should be in the sport, Dwain Chambers was extremely unlucky, he never even left his blocks today when he was kicked out, but until sports ruling bodies understand that they are there to maintain the sport, rather than act like little Hitler’s who want to be centre of attention, then the financial rewards they could reap will never materialise.

The people in the stadium today must feel robbed, of course there has to be a limit, but was there really so much wrong with the old two start rule? Surely London’s organisers must lobby the plonkers at the IAAF and explain that the British public do not want to see half a field in the 100 metres final, or their own British stars watching the women’s 400m final because they made a slight mistake, we want and demand to see the best athletes in the best competitions, now take your pride, admit you had not foreseen it could affect things like it did today, and we, the public that put money in your pocket, will be happy, and maybe you will keep the major sponsors too.
